Ricky spent years in infrastructure as a project manager. Long hours and constant travel took time from his family. Friends in pool care showed him a different life, so he bought a Jim's Pool Care franchise.
He started with about 30 customers and passed 100 soon after. Today he looks after weekly, fortnightly and monthly clients, working 4.5 to 5 days a week plus some Saturday mornings.
In this video Ricky explains the mobile pool shop model. Franchisees test water on site, carry chemicals and sell pumps, chlorinators and cleaners.
Cleaning pays the bills. Equipment sales add to every visit.
He also clears up the biggest myth about fees. Jim's charges a set monthly fee plus a small per-lead fee, not a percentage of your income.
The monthly fee covers conference, advertising and technology costs.
