He drops cards and brochures into letterboxes, often on the way to a job.
When he works inside a retirement village with 200 homes, he drives through and covers every letterbox before his next booking. He also offers a service special to get people calling.
Mike emails builders, strata managers and property managers to introduce himself and his services. Most won't reply straight away.
A year later, when their current provider lets them down, they remember his name.
He also spots problems from the street. A door hanging on an angle usually means a worn cable or poor balance. Mike stops, knocks on the door and points it out. Most homeowners have no idea until he shows them.
